MLB Playoff Picks (10/15/04)

For Friday, October 15, 2004:

New York at Boston in Game 3 of the National League Championship Series (New York leads 2-0).

New York (Brown) at Boston (Arroyo):

Concerns about the weather tonight in Boston, a Must-Win situation for the Sox, and Bronson Arroyo’s lack of playoff experience are giving us a strong No Action Advised signal.

However, our free college and NFL picks have been released.

MLB playoff Record to Date:

5-3 (+195 Units)

MLB Playoff Picks (10/14/04)

For Thursday, October 14, 2004:

Houston at St. Louis in Game 2 of the National League Championship Series (St. Louis leads 1-0).

Houston (Munro) at St. Louis (Morris):

Cardinals should win this game easily, but like yesterday, laying the -240 is too much to risk on a playoff game, therefore this game is No Action

MLB playoff Record to Date:

5-3 (+195 Units)

Weekend Recap: 10/9 – 10/11

The story this past weekend would be our 3-1 posting in both Sunday NFL games and Saturday college football. Unfortunately, we also pass along the bad news of our first loss on Monday night this season.

On the college scene, we posted wins with Oklahoma -7 v. Texas, Cal +7 v. USC and Texas A&M -8.5 v. Iowa State. Our lone loss came with the disappointing performance of Kansas State -2.5 v. Kansas.

In the NFL, we posted 3 wins with Minnesota -4.5 v. Houston, Under (52.5) Oakland at Indy, and Buffalo +7 at the New York Jets. Our loss was with Miami +13 v. New England.

Monday Night saw the absolute thrashing of Green Bay at home to the Titans, in a game that was over 5 minutes into the first half. Unforatunately, we expected the Packers to come out with a statement to make (if you purchased the Monday Night pick, you will retain access to the Member Center for next week and also receive our selection via email when we publish).

On the season, our premium picks:

Premium College Football Picks: 15-8 (65.2%)

Premium Sunday NFL Picks: 12-7 (63.2%)

Monday Night Football Picks: 4-1 (80%)

MLB Playoff Picks (10/13/04)

For Wednesday, October 13, 2004:

Two games on tap tonight. Boston at New York in Game 2 of the American League Championship Series and Houston at St. Louis in Game 1 of the National League Championship Series.

Boston (Martinez) at New York (Lieber):

The stats are certainly in favor of the Red Sox, but when you factor in the intangibles of Yankee Stadium, “Who’s your daddy”, and Schilling getting shelled, momentum is with the Bronx Bombers.

Take New York +145

Houston (Backe) at St. Louis (Williams):

Cardinals will win this game easily, but at -230 is too much to risk just in case, therefore this game is No Action

MLB playoff Record to Date:

4-3 (+50 Units)
